I’ve purchased several TronXY printers and this is one of the better ones.Quick overview -PROS; quick and easy setup, auto level is simple and intuitive, within 2 hours I had it set up, level and doing its first print, and it laid down a picture perfect first layer, completely level with perfect adhesion. Runs faster (and more reliably at the faster speeds when at basic settings) than any of my creality printers. The bed and extruder heat up very fast which is nice! This machine is extremely capable due to its dual extruders and the ability to laser engrave. It’s a great addition to any small maker space or DIY hobbyist. The first thing I printed was a n XYZ calibration cube, it came out almost perfect. Supposed to be 20mm each side, my calipers read 19.98 and 19.89 per side, which is pretty close, especially since I hadn’t done any tweaking of the machine yet.CONS; while the auto level does a great job… sometimes it just doesn’t work. You should always be watching your first layer go down no matter what, but even more so with this printer. This printer doesn’t utilize a switch when homing the Z axis, it utilizes the auto level sensor, often this sensor has seemed to fail causing the printer to “home” the z axis either too low or too high, by a significant margin. This means, when it’s too low, it drags the nozzle across the glass bed doing irreparable harm to the bed, or it starts too high, normally about ½” too high, so it just extrudes filament into a big glob. Can’t figure out what causes this error, and I have experienced it across more than one of their printers.A little more detail.SETUP: The printer comes probably 80% assembled, you just need to put the bigger prebuilt sections together. It's pretty easy and intuitive, but make sure to look at the instructions for the small things you may miss. The included instructions are for a version of this printer with less features, but what the instructions don’t include (installation of second extruder) are easily figured out on your own, it’s pretty obvious what goes where even if you have no experience. Make sure you tighten everything that needs tightening! When I got my first tronXY printer I thought it was filled with bugs and issues until I realized it was all user error, I didn’t tighten a few of the necessary bolts and that caused a lot of slop in my print, so ensure you follow the directions, there’s also a lot of youtube videos that can help.AUTO LEVELING: Works great. You should initially do the “manual” auto level, where the extruder will automatically go to and stop at all 4 corners of the bed then the middle. When it stops at a corner you should do the paper leveling, where you adjust the bed to where it’s only a standard sheet of paper under the nozzle. This will bet you very close to level. Next you should run the “auto” leveling and the extruder then automatically goes to 16 spots to get a far more accurate picture of how level your bed is. It will give you a numerical value for each of the 16 spots and from there you can adjust the corners as needed to get it even more level.DUAL EXTRUDER: I had some difficulty setting it up in Cura since the included instructions are not accurate for current Cura slicer versions, but a quick search on youtube and I figured it out.LASER ENGRAVER: It works well, make sure you vent the smoke created, NEVER engrave something that has PVC (creates chlorine gas) and ensure you use the eye protection. It can do a decent job on wood, plastic, acrylic and leather. Isn’t strong enough to cut materials, but engraves very well.Overall: Great printer, I would recommend it.

I've had this printer for about 2 weeks and while I haven't had a chance to test the laser engraver and the dual extruder functionality, so far, I'm pleased with it. Just to give a quick background of my experience with 3d Printers, this is my 5th one. I have had 3 FDM type printers and 2 SLA so I’m not inexperienced with the technology. To start off, the printer comes in one package mostly assembled except for the printer’s z axis and single extruder assembly. Instructions to set up the printer as a single extruder set up are included but I didn’t really need them as putting it together was pretty intuitive. Having said that, it appears that setting up the printer for dual extruder use or as a laser engraver require a bit more set up and will require instructions to put together successfully. If you plan on using this as a single extruder, you should be up and running in about 15 minutes. It comes with some sample filament but I wouldn’t rely on them as what was packaged with my printer didn’t print very well and all my prints failed when I tried using them. But once I put in a new roll of filament, almost all the samples I ran through it printed successfully and those that failed were mostly due to getting used to the printer and figuring the right settings for each print. Once I got used to the machine, my printers were coming out quite nicely.Regarding the prints themselves, I’ve included some pictures of the sample items that I printed to show the quality of the prints themselves. To me, the quality of the prints is the most important aspect of any 3d printer and I’m very happy with this so far. From what I can see, the items I printed came out great with minimal, if any skipped steps and no visible ghosting (at least to my eyes) in each print’s layers. One of the samples included with this printer is a 20 mm cube that can be used to test the printer’s accuracy and going by the sample I printed out, this printer is pretty much spot on when it comes to accuracy. The X and Y axis measured 20.02 and 20.04 mm respectively while the Z axis came in at 19.78 mm which is about a good as can be expected from an FDM printer in this price range.I haven’t had time to add the 2nd extruder and the laser to the printer so I can’t comment on them specifically but from my experience with this printer so far and from this company in the past, I’m not expecting too many issues. Of course adding a second extruder is adding complexity to the machine so I’m not saying it will be a walk in the park but the problems that I’m anticipating will be due to my inexperience using dual extruders and not the hardware itself. Once I have had time to test this further, I’ll update my review to include them as well.To sum up, it was easy to put together as a single filament extruder with a lot of nice features and good print quality so even though I haven’t had a chance to use the dual extruder or the laser engraver, I would consider purchasing this again. One last thing, I have another printer from this company that I purchased in the past and when I needed to reach out to them for some information, they responded very quickly and helped me resolve an issue that I was encountering at the time with that other printer. They had me up and running within 24 hours of my first contacting them which is rare these days when it comes to customer service, especially after the items has been purchased.

The Tronxy XY-3 SE 3 in 1 is my third printer. I purchased it for the dual color and laser engraving options and it has met my expectations.Opening the box, I found that the unit was well packaged. The 2 in 1 out hotend was already installed and included was a single filament extruder. Assembly took about 20 minutes. The gantry is sturdy and the addition of a carry handle is nice. The extruder for the second filament is straightforward. Connecting the wiring is easy. There are only three connections to make – the flat ribbon cable, the second extruder motor, and the second runout sensor. Included with the printer are Tronxy’s glass bed and clips to attach it to the heated plate. The unit also comes with Tronxy’s proximity sensor that not only senses metal but works very well with the glass bed.The included SD card contains Tronxy’s slicer, Cura, several PDFs with instructions for setting up the two-color printing and test prints. I have been using Cura for several years now, but for the two-color printing I tried out Tronxy’s slicer. To me, the directions for setting up the dual-color were straightforward. There was a card attached to the extruder that had additional settings for retraction. The first test print came out perfect. I have printed several other things and have had outstanding results.Overall, I am completely satisfied with the Tronxy XY-3 SE. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone. There is a slight learning curve with two-color printing, but I don’t think that beginners would find it too hard to figure out. I have not tried out the laser engraving but I will update this review when I do.Definitely 5 stars for this printer.

Out of the box, little assembly required. Everything came pre-wired and cataloged. Tools necessary were included along with some filament to get setup. Instruction manual which included clear illustrations made it simple to setup and print. Responsive touch-screen makes it easy to navigate through settings and files. A small plus would have been to get a visual of the print selected but regardless this is still a great and affordable printer. Clean and elegant design, structurally sturdy, made it a quite machine to run. Heated glass bed along with the z-offset editing feature gives it superb bed adhesion. Comprehensive slicing software offers great control of the prints; which allows for print refinement. After some tweaking to the settings ,I was able to get some nice solid prints. Setup up for dual extruding was uncomplicated and apart from figuring out how to actually create a file for this feature, watching a tutorial online made it quite intuitive. This goes as well for the Laser engraving. Would like to add that the fact that the dual z-axis motors and synchronized dual leadscrews makes it a bit more stronger/sturdier for accurate prints which is what sets this printer apart. I think the printer is designed and well put together and having purchased a Tronxy p-802 many years ago (which i still use today) i am glad to continue being a Tronxy customer.

This printer was really easy to set up and get going. Much easier than the Tronxy XSA-Pro, which took me a couple weeks of fiddling to get it correct. This printer went together quite easy, although the booklet is covering the single filament model not the double. Although it is pretty easy to see how the other extruder fits onto the other side, it is not shown in the instructions. The printer worked great for the vase that is included on the sd card. Overall the printer is a great addition. I have not had the time to test out the dual filament yet or the laser, but I will make an addition to this review when I do so.Thank you,
