Summary: 3D printing is fine, but I have a serious concern about safety. I never got the laser working due to missing parts. Several exchanges with support did not resolve either issue. I gave up and returned it.This is my third 3D printer. My other printers are a Prusa i3 MK3S and an Ender 5 Plus. This printer offers dual-filament printing and a laser engraver, which I don't have in my other printers.I spent several hours trying to make this work. I tried. I wanted it to work. I would have liked to keep it for the dual-filament printing and laser engraving, but I did not feel safe using it and I never got the laser engraver to work.First the good: Single color printing worked right away. There was some confusion about two-color printing but I figured it out. That part works really well. Now the bad: Thermal Runaway Handling, missing parts, and poor support.Thermal Runaway Handling:A print failed when the printed item became dislodged from the print bed. This happens sometimes. A mass of melted filament began forming around the print head, which tore off the silicone sock and pulled the heat block thermistor out of its hole in the heat block. The printer's screen showed thermal runaway which is a result of sending power to heat the print head without observing an increased print block temperature via the (now dislogded) print block thermistor. The printer should have stopped printing and turned off power to the heat block heater.Instead, the printer continued to send full power to the print block heater while processing gcode and extruding filament. It filled the room with smoke from burning the mass of melted filament that collected around the overheated print head - all while displaying the thermal runaway message on it screen. Left unattended, I believe this would have started a fire.TronXY support first just told me to reinstall the thermistor without addressing my safety concern. I reiterated my concern and their support confirmed that I had the latest firmware installed. Twice they have failed to address this and my return window is closing. I won't trust this in my home without a specific root cause analysis and corrective action, yet I can't even get their support to replace a couple of missing screws.Missing parts:I was missing two M3x6 screws to mount the laser to the print head. Instructions are not keeping up with their product revisions. First support response advised me to contact the seller. I was contacting the seller - Abby - and reiterated my request stating that they were the seller.Second response informed me that the screws are included in the bag of screws. Really.TronXY support intended to help me by providing this response? This is not an issue with the language barrier.I never saw the laser work.
