I’ve purchased several TronXY printers and this is one of the better ones.Quick overview -PROS; quick and easy setup, auto level is simple and intuitive, within 2 hours I had it set up, level and doing its first print, and it laid down a picture perfect first layer, completely level with perfect adhesion. Runs faster (and more reliably at the faster speeds when at basic settings) than any of my creality printers. The bed and extruder heat up very fast which is nice! This machine is extremely capable due to its dual extruders and the ability to laser engrave. It’s a great addition to any small maker space or DIY hobbyist. The first thing I printed was a n XYZ calibration cube, it came out almost perfect. Supposed to be 20mm each side, my calipers read 19.98 and 19.89 per side, which is pretty close, especially since I hadn’t done any tweaking of the machine yet.CONS; while the auto level does a great job… sometimes it just doesn’t work. You should always be watching your first layer go down no matter what, but even more so with this printer. This printer doesn’t utilize a switch when homing the Z axis, it utilizes the auto level sensor, often this sensor has seemed to fail causing the printer to “home” the z axis either too low or too high, by a significant margin. This means, when it’s too low, it drags the nozzle across the glass bed doing irreparable harm to the bed, or it starts too high, normally about ½” too high, so it just extrudes filament into a big glob. Can’t figure out what causes this error, and I have experienced it across more than one of their printers.A little more detail.SETUP: The printer comes probably 80% assembled, you just need to put the bigger prebuilt sections together. It's pretty easy and intuitive, but make sure to look at the instructions for the small things you may miss. The included instructions are for a version of this printer with less features, but what the instructions don’t include (installation of second extruder) are easily figured out on your own, it’s pretty obvious what goes where even if you have no experience. Make sure you tighten everything that needs tightening! When I got my first tronXY printer I thought it was filled with bugs and issues until I realized it was all user error, I didn’t tighten a few of the necessary bolts and that caused a lot of slop in my print, so ensure you follow the directions, there’s also a lot of youtube videos that can help.AUTO LEVELING: Works great. You should initially do the “manual” auto level, where the extruder will automatically go to and stop at all 4 corners of the bed then the middle. When it stops at a corner you should do the paper leveling, where you adjust the bed to where it’s only a standard sheet of paper under the nozzle. This will bet you very close to level. Next you should run the “auto” leveling and the extruder then automatically goes to 16 spots to get a far more accurate picture of how level your bed is. It will give you a numerical value for each of the 16 spots and from there you can adjust the corners as needed to get it even more level.DUAL EXTRUDER: I had some difficulty setting it up in Cura since the included instructions are not accurate for current Cura slicer versions, but a quick search on youtube and I figured it out.LASER ENGRAVER: It works well, make sure you vent the smoke created, NEVER engrave something that has PVC (creates chlorine gas) and ensure you use the eye protection. It can do a decent job on wood, plastic, acrylic and leather. Isn’t strong enough to cut materials, but engraves very well.Overall: Great printer, I would recommend it.

Summary: 3D printing is fine, but I have a serious concern about safety. I never got the laser working due to missing parts. Several exchanges with support did not resolve either issue. I gave up and returned it.This is my third 3D printer. My other printers are a Prusa i3 MK3S and an Ender 5 Plus. This printer offers dual-filament printing and a laser engraver, which I don't have in my other printers.I spent several hours trying to make this work. I tried. I wanted it to work. I would have liked to keep it for the dual-filament printing and laser engraving, but I did not feel safe using it and I never got the laser engraver to work.First the good: Single color printing worked right away. There was some confusion about two-color printing but I figured it out. That part works really well. Now the bad: Thermal Runaway Handling, missing parts, and poor support.Thermal Runaway Handling:A print failed when the printed item became dislodged from the print bed. This happens sometimes. A mass of melted filament began forming around the print head, which tore off the silicone sock and pulled the heat block thermistor out of its hole in the heat block. The printer's screen showed thermal runaway which is a result of sending power to heat the print head without observing an increased print block temperature via the (now dislogded) print block thermistor. The printer should have stopped printing and turned off power to the heat block heater.Instead, the printer continued to send full power to the print block heater while processing gcode and extruding filament. It filled the room with smoke from burning the mass of melted filament that collected around the overheated print head - all while displaying the thermal runaway message on it screen. Left unattended, I believe this would have started a fire.TronXY support first just told me to reinstall the thermistor without addressing my safety concern. I reiterated my concern and their support confirmed that I had the latest firmware installed. Twice they have failed to address this and my return window is closing. I won't trust this in my home without a specific root cause analysis and corrective action, yet I can't even get their support to replace a couple of missing screws.Missing parts:I was missing two M3x6 screws to mount the laser to the print head. Instructions are not keeping up with their product revisions. First support response advised me to contact the seller. I was contacting the seller - Abby - and reiterated my request stating that they were the seller.Second response informed me that the screws are included in the bag of screws. Really.TronXY support intended to help me by providing this response? This is not an issue with the language barrier.I never saw the laser work.

I've had this printer for about 2 weeks and while I haven't had a chance to test the laser engraver and the dual extruder functionality, so far, I'm pleased with it. Just to give a quick background of my experience with 3d Printers, this is my 5th one. I have had 3 FDM type printers and 2 SLA so I’m not inexperienced with the technology. To start off, the printer comes in one package mostly assembled except for the printer’s z axis and single extruder assembly. Instructions to set up the printer as a single extruder set up are included but I didn’t really need them as putting it together was pretty intuitive. Having said that, it appears that setting up the printer for dual extruder use or as a laser engraver require a bit more set up and will require instructions to put together successfully. If you plan on using this as a single extruder, you should be up and running in about 15 minutes. It comes with some sample filament but I wouldn’t rely on them as what was packaged with my printer didn’t print very well and all my prints failed when I tried using them. But once I put in a new roll of filament, almost all the samples I ran through it printed successfully and those that failed were mostly due to getting used to the printer and figuring the right settings for each print. Once I got used to the machine, my printers were coming out quite nicely.Regarding the prints themselves, I’ve included some pictures of the sample items that I printed to show the quality of the prints themselves. To me, the quality of the prints is the most important aspect of any 3d printer and I’m very happy with this so far. From what I can see, the items I printed came out great with minimal, if any skipped steps and no visible ghosting (at least to my eyes) in each print’s layers. One of the samples included with this printer is a 20 mm cube that can be used to test the printer’s accuracy and going by the sample I printed out, this printer is pretty much spot on when it comes to accuracy. The X and Y axis measured 20.02 and 20.04 mm respectively while the Z axis came in at 19.78 mm which is about a good as can be expected from an FDM printer in this price range.I haven’t had time to add the 2nd extruder and the laser to the printer so I can’t comment on them specifically but from my experience with this printer so far and from this company in the past, I’m not expecting too many issues. Of course adding a second extruder is adding complexity to the machine so I’m not saying it will be a walk in the park but the problems that I’m anticipating will be due to my inexperience using dual extruders and not the hardware itself. Once I have had time to test this further, I’ll update my review to include them as well.To sum up, it was easy to put together as a single filament extruder with a lot of nice features and good print quality so even though I haven’t had a chance to use the dual extruder or the laser engraver, I would consider purchasing this again. One last thing, I have another printer from this company that I purchased in the past and when I needed to reach out to them for some information, they responded very quickly and helped me resolve an issue that I was encountering at the time with that other printer. They had me up and running within 24 hours of my first contacting them which is rare these days when it comes to customer service, especially after the items has been purchased.

I just want to start off this review by saying that the negative reviews I've seen on this product are not doing justice to it and the engineers that have worked hard to improve their printers for their community. Especially comments I have seen saying it is not an upgrade from the Tronxy xy-2.I have owned a Tronxy XY-2 pro printer for a couple years now i am happy to say that they have made many improvements to their previous product:- Dual Z axis for more accurate Z movement without dropping gantry- A superior glass heated bed to to the previous models- A sturdier Y axis due to the V slots supporting both left and right sides of the bed (not just the centre)- Z axis lead nuts loosened in factory to reduce imperfections transferring to the print- An integrated touch screen that is front and centre- Micro SD inserted on the right side of the printer (previously on the back)- Fantastic cable management with quick installation and minimal exposed wires- Integrated handle at the top of the printer for moving it around- Frame has very nice housing that prevents stray filaments and dust from entering Y axis motor and pully- Bed levelling sensor inside the print head preventing user from moving it when adjusting print head by hand- not so important but nice blue highlights that make the printer feel more premium over exposed profiles.OK now that I have listed some of the improvements to highlight this is definitely an improvement over the Tronxy xy-2 (which is also great printer) ill move on to the pros and cons.Pros:- Packaging was very good and organisation was nice- Easy to follow manual- Extremely fast assembly, less that 30 minutes to print !- Sturdy construction with a heavy base- Very organised packaging with great tools and a lot of extras- A nice set of laser engraving glasses and case (with the correct colour protection!)- Adjustable tensioner on x axis makes tensioning the belt a breeze- Adjustable y axis tensioner- Clean cable design with ribbon cable for all connections required for the x gantry- Very clean user interface with great colour touch screen- Adjustable z offset during prints ! (big deal)- Print quality out of the box is actually very good (see 20mm cube in pictures)- Really good build plate- very responsive and helpful customer service that Is always on standby to help you with your problem (make sure to send as much information and pictures as possible to help them help you !)-Laser engraving works niceCons:- Quality control is a little hit and miss but for things that are easily rectified (just check printer before printing)- 3 in 1 functionality but not swappable heads! This means that the entire print head housing has to be removed to install and use the laser or dual printing modes which can take a while and will also mean that you have to go through calibration every time you decide to change modes - Homing of the machine leaves the printing head in the middle and very close to of the print bed- When starting a print, the print head only homes the z axis before the printing starts as opposed to starting before preheating and then lowering into the print (quite frustrating as it is difficult to grab stray filament before print starts)- New Z probe (auto levelling sensor) in my opinion isn't vey accurate and i am not sure if this is more to do with the software or hardware- NO CURA PROFILES ( have to be added manually and PDF instructions on this topic are terrible)- Use laser GRBL for laser software as the one provided is not in EnglishConclusion:This is a very good printer in this price range especially with the vouchers they offer you on amazon. I would say people need to know that in this price range these printers are hobbyist printers. This means that you are willing to put some time in initially understanding your printer, If you are a newbie to 3D printing this is the reality of cheaper 3D printers and unless you spend much more you wont have a perfect printer. However in saying this Tronxy has done amazingly well at this price point to offer you all the features they have and with a very

Product Quality.upon opening the box and looking at each part of the printer, you can tell that Tronxy have made sure that the XY-3 SE is sturdy and robust with alloy material which makes it lighter than most and for those that didn't understand why they supply an handle for the top, well this becomes obvious during the build of it and easy to move without grabbing hold of the wrong thing and potentially damaging something on other printers.Components and Accessories.well what can I say here, I am impressed with the amount of parts you get, including the tools and the only negative I have is the fact that you are only given small quantities of filament and I would have preferred a full spool , however this is a very minor issue, seeing that i am not new to 3D printing and I have plenty already. In the box you have the duel extruder, two tubes, tie wraps, 3 packs of filament samples, flat head screw driver, various sized Alan keys and scraper etc.Single extrusion test.Once I had built the printer, which took me around 30 minutes on my own, and by adding the top handle first, did make it easier to lift and keep the main section in place, I did a Auto level check and the results informed me that I needed to make some minor adjustments and as soon as I had i commenced printing, you will see in the attached video that I started my printing of the T800 bust which turned out pretty good as you will see and the only slight issue I had was the first layers in certain sections had lifted, but the details of the print was very good.Duel extrusion test.Initially I did struggle to get this to work as I could not get it to print from the second extruder, however I think this was human error and I soon figured out what to do, you have to make sure that one of the extruders filament is extracted from the end of the extruder by about 20-30mm because it can obviously only start to print with one filament first, so if you have both filaments inside the nozzle, then they wont move, well that's what I think happened to me.As you will see with the pictures of the Ying and Yang print, the first one didn't print too well and did not print even and again this was my fault, but after a few tweaks here and there, I soon got it to look much better with it being at the same height all the way around, but again I am still getting slight lift from certain areas of the first layers, but once I had finely adjusted everything it is now printing great.laser.fitting the laser attachment was fairly easy after I read the instructions and I did start laser printing, but unfortunately I haven't mastered this side of it yet and need more time to learn this side of things as I have not done this kind of thing before, so cannot tell you much else apart from the fact that its a great idea and I have not seen a printer that does all 3 and for the price it is very good to have 3 processes in one.ConclusionI would highly recommend this printer to anyone, especially seasoned 3d printer guys and girls out there who have more experience in setting up and I now have two tronxy printers, but must admit this version is better and has the Bowden extruder with duel fans, oh and when printing the printing is very quite and the only thing you can actually hear is the two fans, but overall I love this printer. My next project is to learn how to laser etch and your never to old to learn something new I say.hope you all have a good time with it too :)Thanks for reading.Mark

The Tronxy XY-3 SE 3 in 1 is my third printer. I purchased it for the dual color and laser engraving options and it has met my expectations.Opening the box, I found that the unit was well packaged. The 2 in 1 out hotend was already installed and included was a single filament extruder. Assembly took about 20 minutes. The gantry is sturdy and the addition of a carry handle is nice. The extruder for the second filament is straightforward. Connecting the wiring is easy. There are only three connections to make – the flat ribbon cable, the second extruder motor, and the second runout sensor. Included with the printer are Tronxy’s glass bed and clips to attach it to the heated plate. The unit also comes with Tronxy’s proximity sensor that not only senses metal but works very well with the glass bed.The included SD card contains Tronxy’s slicer, Cura, several PDFs with instructions for setting up the two-color printing and test prints. I have been using Cura for several years now, but for the two-color printing I tried out Tronxy’s slicer. To me, the directions for setting up the dual-color were straightforward. There was a card attached to the extruder that had additional settings for retraction. The first test print came out perfect. I have printed several other things and have had outstanding results.Overall, I am completely satisfied with the Tronxy XY-3 SE. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone. There is a slight learning curve with two-color printing, but I don’t think that beginners would find it too hard to figure out. I have not tried out the laser engraving but I will update this review when I do.Definitely 5 stars for this printer.

Out of the box, little assembly required. Everything came pre-wired and cataloged. Tools necessary were included along with some filament to get setup. Instruction manual which included clear illustrations made it simple to setup and print. Responsive touch-screen makes it easy to navigate through settings and files. A small plus would have been to get a visual of the print selected but regardless this is still a great and affordable printer. Clean and elegant design, structurally sturdy, made it a quite machine to run. Heated glass bed along with the z-offset editing feature gives it superb bed adhesion. Comprehensive slicing software offers great control of the prints; which allows for print refinement. After some tweaking to the settings ,I was able to get some nice solid prints. Setup up for dual extruding was uncomplicated and apart from figuring out how to actually create a file for this feature, watching a tutorial online made it quite intuitive. This goes as well for the Laser engraving. Would like to add that the fact that the dual z-axis motors and synchronized dual leadscrews makes it a bit more stronger/sturdier for accurate prints which is what sets this printer apart. I think the printer is designed and well put together and having purchased a Tronxy p-802 many years ago (which i still use today) i am glad to continue being a Tronxy customer.

This is a very well thought out kit. Assembly was easy except for the laser engraver - There were a few missing minor parts which I am working out with the folks at Tronxy, mounting screws and such. Everything else went very smoothly. This version came with Cura 4.8, and a number of preconfigured printer settings, including one for the single extruder option for this printer. Having worked with a much earlier version of Cura, I found myself a bit bewildered at first, but have now managed to figure out everything I needed to know. There are quite a few improvements, including the ability to customize many feature groups.Unfortunately, the dual extruder configuration was not included with the Cura setup. That said, there were quite good instructions on how to build the proper custom configurations yourself - a very useful process and necessary to master this printer. The dual extruder configuration and use:I found the dual extruder setup workable, and relatively straight forward. I immediately began experimenting with dual materials - PLA+ and PVA - to print an upgrade component for my TronXY X5SA PRO (See attached Video). And ran into issues... Most of these were environmental. I hadn't acquired an enclosure for this printer yet, so there were issues with humidity and drafts. Then there was the priming tower config - default position was too near the edge of the build plate. But with a little tuning of speed and temp, these resolved nicely.I really like the quality of preassembly on this printer, everything was well fitted, tight where it was supposed to be and easily moveable when appropriate. Materials were first rate, the structure very sturdy, and stable - no vibration issues here. The glass plate was a nice touch too. Now all I have to do is apply a little hair spray, and I can easily print PLA, PVA, or PETG to provide good adhesion during printing and easy removal after. The synchronized Z axis drivers are also a big help in getting good quality prints. The thing that is difficult with using dual extruders is setting the filament up properly to start the job.You need to load the primary filament first, verify that it extrudes through the nozzle, then load the secondary filament, pushing it forward as far as you can (until it makes contact with the primary filament), then back it off just a bit. With that done, I found no issues employing the dual heads. It also helps if the two filaments work in compatible temperature zones.Really, a quality product for the price - currently on sale. I do have two recommendations for upgrades.1. Add a dual nozzle configuration to the enclosed sets supplied with Cura - I expect this will happen soon.2. Add two additional filament end detection sensors to the printhead assembly. These could be used to automate filament loading for both filaments and eliminate the need to go through the process manually removing any margin for error. I found the dual filament loading process to be the biggest challenge in using the printer. Not insurmountable, but non-trivial.SummaryA quality product at an excellent price. And TRONXY is constantly innovating and improving their products. I may end up getting a larger version of this in the future. And while tech support is a challenge due to language issues, I have found them to be very helpful over the last year or so. Good people. Good Company. Good Product.

This printer was really easy to set up and get going. Much easier than the Tronxy XSA-Pro, which took me a couple weeks of fiddling to get it correct. This printer went together quite easy, although the booklet is covering the single filament model not the double. Although it is pretty easy to see how the other extruder fits onto the other side, it is not shown in the instructions. The printer worked great for the vase that is included on the sd card. Overall the printer is a great addition. I have not had the time to test out the dual filament yet or the laser, but I will make an addition to this review when I do so.Thank you,

I have two Tronxy-XY-2 Pro's and have been please with there performance. I took a shot at getting the Tronxy XY-3 SE 3 in 1 and again very happy with the performance of this printer. Now I can do dual colors and laser engraving.

First of all , der Drucker ist in 5 Minuten zusammengebaut .

The TRONXY XY-3 SE performed incredibly well out of the box. I have been impressed with the overall build quality of the print. I'm yet to try the laser or the duel printing but the first impressions are great.

This is not my first 3D printer, I bought my first one about 3 years ago and have had several since then. However I have to say this is the best one I've had to date. Initial impressions were how well specified this printer is for the price being asked and whether maybe to include so many different options maybe some corners had been cut to keep the price down. But to date I have to say my experience is totally the opposite as I've found the printer to be stunningly good and a very good performer. When first opening the rather large box it comes in it is a little overwhelming as there seems to be loads of items and you assume there is a lengthy build ahead of you. However this couldn't be further from the truth. In reality when you first assemble the printer there are literally only 12 bolts to worry about. This is because the main components come fully assembled. There is the base unit that contains all the electronics, power supply, touch screen, heated bed etc... and the gantry assembly which contains the vertical motors (two), and the horizontal bar which carries the hot end assembly. All you need to do is place the gantry assembly vertically on the base unit and fasten the bottom of the uprights to the side of the base unit using 4 screws on each side. These actually do fasten into the sides of the base so there's even no need to go balancing the base on its side while fitting the gantry unlike all over printers I've assembled. There are then a further two bolts on the spool holder which attaches to the gantry.Once this is complete there are only 3 cable connections to be made, one small lead with plug (keyed) on each side that plug into the vertical 'z-axis' stepper motors on each side of the gantry and a single ribbon cable that feeds from the base unit to a connector on the left of the gantry where the extruder stepper motor is found. The latter contains all the leads required to support the stepper motor, filament run out sensor, hot end and fan assemblies. The last things to add are the spool holder which fits to the gantry upright and the glass bed which sits on the heated bed and is fastened in place with 4 screw clips, another innovation I've not seen elsewhere but very neat. I should also add the glass bed also has a special coating on its surface that helps with adhesion, just remember to let the bed cool before trying to remove your prints or you'll likely damage the coating.Power plugs into the rear of the base unit and you are effectively ready to calibrate the printer and go. However be aware that there is a voltage selector on the left side of the base unit (when viewed from the front) that sets the mains voltage to either 240v or 110v, this should be set to 240v for the UK, be sure to check this as on my printer this was set to the USA standard of 110v. Get this wrong and you will at least blow a fuse, but may cause far more damage if unlucky. At this point you can power the printer on and it should beep and present you with a basic menu after it has gone through its startup routine. Once this is complete you get to 'level' the bed. This is something that strikes fear into a lot of people and indeed can be the difference between getting prints to stick to the bed well or having failed prints due to them coming loose. To carry out the bed levelling I would suggest the following steps, this is slightly more than suggested in the manual but worked perfectly flawlessly for me;1. Go into the tools menu and select levelling then the manual option. Then using the menu options select each corner to level, this will move the print head to the relevant corner and lower it to the default level of the printer. You should then insert a sheet of paper between the nozzle and the bed and while turning the screw wheel below that corner of the bed move the sheet of paper back and forth, turning the wheel to the right will lower the bed, to the left will raise the bed, once you feel a small amount of resistance on the paper stop and move to the next corner. It is sometimes worth going round the cor
