My wife and I decided to purchase a 3D printer for Christmas this year. We are both absolute novices to the technology. We saw it as an investment, being able to make clay cutters for her jewelry business and I was hoping to use it to prototype projects I was interested in building. We did our homework and decided on the Tronxy XY-2 Pro. We have not been disappointed by our decision. This printer is an affordable machine capable of detailed work. It was extremely well packed and all components, including a sizable spool of filament, tools, and spare parts, were organized within. Assembly took less than 60 minutes and that included watching two videos. (One from Tronxy that takes you step by step through the assembly process and another one from an independent reviewer that disassembled the printer to show that it is well made.) The actual assembly process consists of attaching the control panel (prewired and attached to the frame for shipping) with two bolts, mounting the gantry (upper bracket) with 4 bolts, and topping the structure with the filament bracket with two more bolts. That’s it – eight bolts. There are two wiring harnesses to plug in, plus the power cord. I checked out the rest of the preassemble frame, printer bed and other moving components. They were all tight with little to no play. The machine was literally ready to print in less than an hour.

In our research, we found that bed leveling was crucial for quality prints, so we spent time both manually leveling the bed with the spring-loaded thumb screws, as well as running the auto leveling program that is part of the system software. Over the dozen prints we have made since purchase the bed has kept its level (I run the auto-level program before each print session to confirm.) The other issue our research pointed out was filament adhesion on the first level. Tronxy included a hot bed “sticker” which is actually a 10 inch by 10 inch piece of fiberglass that you clip onto the hot bed (The XY-2 Pro is capable of printing an object approximately 10” X 10” X 10”). In our research, it was recommended that you use blue painters tape or glue sticks to improve filament adhesion, but we have not used anything but Isopropyl alcohol to clean the print surface between projects, and we have had no issues with our prints popping off the board before they are done.

Loading filament is a breeze, and as shared above, Tronxy includes a sizable spool of white filament with the printer. The loading process is simply running the filament into the filament detector (that also warns you when you have run out of material), through the Titan extruder, and on down the feed-pipe to the printing head. Tronxy also includes several pre-sliced projects with the system software. Our first print was the “Rook”, a castle tower, complete with a spiral staircase inside. The bed and nozzle heated quickly as you can watch the temperatures rise in real time on the color touch-screen monitor. It took 8.5 hours to print the 2-inch wide by 3-inch tall model, but the detail was amazing. We had read about “salmon skin” on prints caused by vibration, but as the detail photo shows, the layers were evenly distributed. We then created a clay cutter pattern, sliced it in Cura, and printed it as both a single cutter and as multiple cutters simultaneously. These also came out clean and ready for my wife to used in her Jewelry making. I then changed filament to a dark color (purple), and printed Tronxy’s Octopus. Each arm on the model is linked like a chain allowing the arms to dangle and move. Again, we are very impressed by this machine, especially as novices, and recommend it to anyone planning to jump in and get started quickly.

Great first time printer. Runs almost silent when printing. Does TPU easily with the titan extruder. Highly recommended.

Must appreciate the printer's broken material detection function

I bought the non pro version to start with and was very impressed with the print quality. So when I was ready for a second printer I purchased this as leveling the bed was easier and the slightly larger print bed made this a simple choice. Both of the printers are used to print demo parts and customer parts that we are going to machine on CNC machines so they get a lot of use for business and well there have been a lot of drone and chess sets printed as well. There have been some reviews that say not worth it but these printers do compete with more costly printers. If you know electronics you can tweak them to be more accurate then you would expect but out of the box they will meet most hobby users.

I am a first time 3d printer and i found this printer to be very easy to use. I had it up and running with in 30 mins of being delivered. For the first print it ran 30 hours straight and never missed a beat,as far as print quality for price point i think its great. Printer has not had any problems yet and runs just about everyday. If you are a beginner as i am i think u will find this a perfect fit .

I purchased this as a gift for a friend's kids, it Look like it would be kid friendly, No exposed line voltage, well built The touch screen interface is simple good for first time user and kids. Easy to assemble go from box to printing in 60 minutes or less. The printer is well built with 4040mm base frame 2040mm uprights and cross member 2020 X axis rail, all aluminum motion assembly with eccentric nuts for carriage adjustment filament run out switch removable build surface, (I'm not a fan of the spring clips to hold the build surface down) but they do work, over all a well designed printer. Comes with small spool of filament a actual spool not a coil, rubber feet helps with cutting down the sound also Tool kit to put it together with extra hot end along with a micro SD card with sample prints and instructions. The touch screen is easy to navigate and setup bed leveling is very simple when running the auto bed leveling routine it will show the relative Z value for each point it pick up. setting Z0 is just as easy, Push the set Z0 machine will move to center of the build plate jog the Z down till it just touches a piece of paper the push the set Z0 The printer motors are pretty quite when running only the fans are on the loud side. Over all I would give this a 4.8 star, works as advertised It is a good printer for a beginner.

機械自体は☆5を付けたいのですが、付属ソフトがイマイチなのと、他のソフトから当機をまともに動かせるようになるまでの苦労は☆3、トータル評価☆4とさせて頂きます。

私は英語がまったくわかりませんが単語から少し推測できる程度

工業機械でNCマシンを動かすのに多少のGコードがどう言ったものかわかる程度

付属のサンプルデータのGコードと自分で作った上手く動作しなかったGコードを見比べて初期動作のどこが違うか判断が出来る程度

こんな私ですが他の英語ソフトで知ってる単語から設定項目を探して、マシンの初期動作のGコードを書き換えをし、そのソフトから本機へ直接アクセスしてプリント出来るようになりました。

そこまで出来るようになればGコードファイルをMicroSDへコピーしてそれを本機に挿す手間がなくなり使い勝手が良くなります。

敷居が高いですが扱えるようになればこの値段の割に良い機械だと思います。

二台目の3Dプリンターです。箱を開けたらネジが転がってたり、最初の設定で日本語マニュアルが無いため戸惑いましたが、他の人のやり方をネットで見て出来るようになりました。一度設定が分かると、ほぼ失敗なしで印刷でき安心して(印刷中も)ほかっておけます。日本語マニュアルがあれば満点だと思います。

This was my second attempt at getting into 3D printing. My first was a refurbished Monoprice that I could not get dialed in at all, and after many failures, just gave up. So after reading many reviews for a starter printer that had features I wanted, (auto level, resume print, filament detection) I went with this one. The instruction booklet is great, and takes you step by step through assembly, leveling, and print set up. If you follow the instructions you'll be up and printing within an hour. My first test print of the dino model went off without a hitch. Being a 10 hour print, I was impressed by the pin jointed dino model, and was surprised it printed the joints as the whole model printed. It's a solid little printer with a good build area. The only cons are the location of the SD card port, and the short power cord.The LCD screen and menus are fantastic, and the leveling functions are awesome. For the price point, this printer is excellent for the beginner/hobbyist.

 this printer took me less than 30 minutes to assemble and start printing. i was surprised at how quiet it is. i did have to adjust the titan extruder to print with tpu and it was able to give me a good print with tpu at 60mm/sec which is twice as fast as my xy-2 pro with the standard extruder. Well worth the extra money for the upgraded version.

Seems to be consistent. I kept trying different brands and kept getting different size in diameter throughout the roll and even wet filament. This one worked out pretty well. Love the color as well.

Don't let the sketchy outer cardboard box fool you--there's a proper vacuum bag with desiccant inside. As with all PLA Plus / Ultra PLA materials, this has a fairly high elasticity while molten and requires a somewhat higher hotend temperature. In order to ensure the color is retained, it is also necessary to use a lot of part cooling. One you spend a minute figuring it out, this stuff is pretty easy to work with.

I am very happy with this filament. I like functional prints, so this first set of speaker mounts were a good test. They are nice and strong, good layering, and printed without any real noticeable issues at all. These are printed on my Geeetech A10M with Cura 4 settings as follows. Layer height 0.15 Wall thickness 1, 60% Cubic infill subdivision, speed 60, and a brim (although entirely unnecessary.

The Tronxy XY-2 PRO Titan is a great printer. I printed a test cone and it came out smooth. At first the printer needed a few adjustments such as belt tightening. As a couple failed prints and the adjustments its prints great. Tronxy also has great customer support and they walked me through any issues i had. The touch sceen is really responsive and it allows you to adjust the printer settings( temp, speed, extrusion) even during a print.
